Knoll acquisition, rodenticide rules and a preserve dispute top open space agenda

The Fairfax Open Space Committee (FOSC) and San Anselmo Open Space Committee (SAOSC) are holding a special joint meeting on August 19, starting with a potluck at Robson-Harrington Park before breaking into their separate sessions to work through a packed shared agenda.

The headline item is the Sky Ranch Knoll acquisition, which SAOSC Co-Chair Jonathan Braun will present to both committees — a potential land purchase that ranked as the single most-watched topic on the agenda.

Also on the table: FOSC member Joe Franaszek will walk through Measure A and the Marin Civil Grand Jury's recommendations, and SAOSC members will raise concerns about rodenticide use in local open space — both issues that have drawn committee attention before.

Rene Voss, representing the Western Alliance for Nature, is slated to bring the committees a discussion of the Scenic-Redwood Preserve in Fairfax. FOSC will also take up routine business afterward, including updates on the Fairfax Open Space Preserve and a vote on whether to dissolve its Bio-Diversity Subcommittee.
