Council set to name interim town manager, start recruitment
Fairfax is moving to fill its top staff job. The October 7 agenda asks the Town Council to adopt a resolution appointing Christine Foster as Interim Town Manager, a placeholder role that lasts until the Council appoints another interim manager.
To find a permanent replacement, staff are recommending the Council hire Ralph Andersen & Associates for Town Manager recruitment services, including an optional community survey, under a contract not to exceed $48,500.
Together the two items signal the start of a formal search process for Fairfax's next top administrator, with Foster holding the office in the meantime.

Council to review fee study, form subcommittee before adoption
The Council will take its first look at a draft Comprehensive Cost of Services and Cost Allocation Study, prepared by Government Consulting Partners, Inc., which could reshape what Fairfax charges residents and businesses for town services.
Rather than vote on new fees now, the agenda calls for the Council to discuss the draft and establish a subcommittee to review it before any proposed fee schedule comes back for adoption.
No specific fee numbers or timeline for final adoption are included in this agenda item, leaving the substance of any rate changes for the subcommittee's work ahead.
