Council adopts citywide ban on tobacco and vape sales
The City Council's biggest action of the week came at its October 5 regular meeting, where members voted to adopt an ordinance that bans the sale and delivery of commercial tobacco products and electronic smoking devices anywhere in Mill Valley.
The ban covers both traditional tobacco products and e-cigarettes, meaning retailers in town will no longer be able to sell or deliver either once the measure takes effect.
The city's public announcement did not spell out an effective date, enforcement details, or whether the vote was unanimous. Residents and local retailers should watch for implementation guidance from the city in the weeks ahead.
