Council to discuss new rules on tobacco sales

The Town Council's October 13 agenda includes a discussion item on tobacco sales regulations, marking the first council-level look at the topic in this cycle.

Staff have flagged the item as not subject to CEQA review, since a policy discussion does not qualify as a 'project' under the Public Resources Code — meaning no environmental analysis is attached to this conversation.

The agenda does not yet specify what changes, if any, are being proposed; the item appears to be an initial discussion rather than a vote on an ordinance, so residents hoping for details on flavored tobacco bans, licensing fees, or retailer spacing will need to wait for the meeting itself.
