Closed-door meeting to address Town Manager's status, possible interim appointment

The Town Council is set to meet behind closed doors this Thursday for a special session dedicated almost entirely to the fate of the Town Manager position. The posted agenda lists a performance evaluation of the sitting Town Manager alongside separate items on the employment and possible appointment of an Interim Town Manager — language that typically signals a leadership transition is being actively worked out, even though no outcome has been announced.

Rounding out the session, the Council will also confer with labor negotiators over compensation for both the Town Manager and Interim Town Manager roles, since both are unrepresented (non-union) positions. Mayor Rosa Thomas and Town Attorney Richard D. Pio Roda are named as the Town's designated negotiators.

A separate, unrelated item on the same agenda has the Council conferring with legal counsel over 'anticipated litigation' involving one case; per the agenda, details are only available on request from the Town Clerk. As with all closed sessions, no public discussion or vote will occur in open session, and any reportable action would only surface afterward.
