Sewer board faces a Grand Jury reply, two pump stations and a fire-alarm emergency still in effect

The Sewerage Agency of Southern Marin's Board of Commissioners meets today with an agenda that runs from routine housekeeping to the one item that will require the board to speak for itself: a discussion of the agency's response to a Grand Jury report. Staff is asking commissioners to discuss the report and give direction on how to answer it — meaning the substance of the reply gets shaped in public, at the table.

Also on deck is a request to authorize a design engineering services contract for the Trestle Glenn and Rosemont Pump Stations Improvements Project, one of two resolutions on the calendar. The other would approve a Notice of Completion for the FY24 WWTP Influent Box and Manhole Rehabilitation Project, closing the books on work at the treatment plant's influent structure.

Commissioners will also get an update on the local emergency declared over the plant's fire alarm system, which remains an open item, plus a review of inflow and infiltration progress — the perennial question of how much rainwater and groundwater is getting into the sewer lines — with staff asking for direction on next steps. Monthly reports for both May and June 2026 are queued up, along with minutes from the May 21 regular meeting.

The agenda does not include a dollar figure for the pump station contract or the text of the Grand Jury findings; both would come out in the meeting materials and discussion.
