Council to Weigh Repair-or-Replace Options for Turney Street Dock
The Turney Street Dock comes before the City Council on Sept. 15, when staff will present a condition assessment of the aging structure and ask the Council to weigh in on a preferred path forward — repair or full replacement.
The report is shaped in part by a community listening session, meaning residents have already had a say before the item reaches the dais. No staff recommendation has been locked in yet; the agenda simply calls for the Council to "provide direction to staff regarding pursuit of the preferred concept for repair/replacement."
With no cost estimate or specific concept spelled out in the agenda, the real work of the meeting will be narrowing the options. Whatever direction the Council gives will set the framework for how the city moves — and spends — on the dock going forward.
