Open Space Committee to weigh Sorich Park trail, two land acquisitions

The Open Space Committee's Sept. 16 agenda is stacked with land deals and trail work, though no votes are scheduled yet — these are discussion items the committee has been chewing on for a while.

Top of the list: continuing efforts to build a pedestrian-only trail in Sorich Park, alongside a separate follow-up on plans to install an exploration park there.

Also on the table is a joint push with the Western Alliance for Nature to help acquire roughly 3.5 acres in the Scenic Redwood Preserve in Fairfax, and what's billed as a "final review" of transferring the Sky Ranch Knolls property to Marin County Open Space.

No staff recommendations or outcomes are attached to any of these items yet, and no members of the public have weighed in on the record — this is still the discussion phase.
