Parks panel to weigh Memorial Park court upgrades, fundraising

The Parks and Recreation Commission will get a staff report and presentation Tuesday on the Memorial Park Athletic Court Improvements Project, the first substantive airing of the plan on this agenda cycle. No specific design, cost, or timeline details are included in the posted agenda, so Tuesday's session is likely to set the terms of the public conversation rather than close it.

The same meeting will also take up selecting a subcommittee to lead fundraising for Memorial Park improvements, a sign the Town is beginning to line up money alongside the design work. No staff recommendation or funding target has been published yet.

Residents who want a say in how the courts are redesigned, or who might want a seat on the fundraising subcommittee, have their first real opportunity to weigh in at this meeting.
