Five homes' shared staircase up for nonconformity permit
At 22 Alexander Avenue, applicant Kai Okada, representing owner Timothy Isaac, is seeking a Nonconformity Permit to tear out and rebuild the existing wooden staircase, landings, rails, and lighting that serve five residences "14, 16, 18, 20, and 22 Alexander Avenue" on the east side of the street.
The plan calls for full in-kind replacement of the staircase and landings in their current location, encasing four existing concrete piles in a new concrete mud slab, and replacing the deck at 22 Alexander Avenue.
Staff finds the project categorically exempt from CEQA review as an existing facility and is recommending approval, having drafted a resolution for the Commission to adopt application 2026-00028.
No public comments are on record ahead of the hearing; the Commission is scheduled to vote on the resolution tonight.
